Reliable Energy for Diverse Applications
The energy value of a wood pellet depends on the type of wood used—for example, pine provides more energy than hardwood—as well as the specific part of the tree used. Since Neosus sources from a variety of raw materials, we are committed to extensive modeling and testing to predict the behavior and energy content of our pellets. Our sophisticated models account for moisture content, ash content, species mix, tree part mix, and seasonal variations. Calorimeters are used to track the energy content of both raw materials and finished pellets, as well as the effects of different manufacturing settings.
Flexible, Versatile, and Baseload Energy
As an on-demand resource, in addition to quality control, the ability to accurately predict the energy content of our products allows us to reliably forecast sales for our customers. More importantly, it provides our customers with a reliable source of energy that complements the intermittency of wind and solar energy. This makes biomass the only renewable resource capable of operating within a predictive model.
Biomass plays a key role in replacing fossil fuels and is an essential component of the renewable energy mix, complementing other intermittent green energy sources like wind, solar, and hydro power. Moreover, it is a baseload and dispatchable energy source, supplied and used on demand when needed. Additionally, existing coal plants can be converted to biomass quickly and cost-effectively.
